Picker Institute Research Agenda

Research is a vital component of the Picker Institute mission. The institute sponsors research in patient-centered care in support of and in cooperation with educational and medical institutions. The institute’s goal is to foster a broader understanding of the theoretical and practical implications of patient-centered care by approaching healthcare with a focus on the concerns of patients and other healthcare consumers.

Picker Institute Long-Term Care Program

Picker Institute is dedicated to the patient-centered-care movement in all healthcare settings. Predicated on the belief that quality of life in nursing homes is as important as quality of clinical care, the Picker Long-Term Care Program, inaugurated in 2008, seeks answers to the challenge of improving the quality of life in LTC facilities.
